Feeding Your Baby Making your baby’s food at home seems exotic to many American parents, but it’s easier than you might think and the finished product offers a wealth of benefits over store-bought food. In addition to teaching you how to make nutritious, great-tasting baby food right in your kitchen (and in very little time), we provide guidelines on how and when to introduce new foods into your baby’s diet, discuss the pros and cons of different cooking and processing methods, and offer storage tips. Specific courses include: Baby Food Basics An introduction to making baby food at home, this class focuses on simple and healthy fruit and vegetable purees. Great Grains, Lovely Legumes Building on the basics, you’ll get recipes and tips for making delicious grain-and legume-based baby foods. Powerful Proteins Another class for intermediate-level baby-food cooks, this one focuses on a variety of tasty and protein-rich meat-and soy-based food recipes.
CLASS INFORMATION: Each class is 1.5 hrs and costs $50. All three classes can be purchased as a package for $120.
Feeding Young Children Our classes on feeding toddlers and young children offer the information, support and ideas parents need to help them navigate the world beyond baby food. Specific courses include: Transitioning to Table Food Children who will gladly eat everything from carrots to bananas to green beans in baby food form often become more monochromatic in their tastes when the time comes to transition to table food. It’s all too easy for parents to fall into a “menu rut.” In this class, we help parents avoid or get out of that rut with ideas for fun, nutritious food that’s easy to prepare and kid-approved. 1 hr / $25 Thinking Outside the (Lunch) Box Want to get out of the pb&j rut? Learn to mix it up and make sure your kids eat well even during school hours with our pointers and recipes for making creative, appetizing and nutritious school lunches your kids will love. 1 hr / $25 Solving the Picky Eater Puzzle Getting a picky eater to eat right isn’t just perplexing—it can be an everyday, every-meal struggle. In this class, we discuss ways to break the impasse, looking at the reasons behind picky eating and presenting creative ideas for broadening those little palettes. 1 hr / $25
|  Kids' Cooking Classes Getting kids involved in the kitchen and exposing them to different foods are great ways to develop healthier and more adventurous eaters. Our cooking classes for kids ages two to 10 do just that! We put kids right where the action is, involving them in everything from food preparation,to clean up, to eating the fruits of their labor. Children gain a meaningful, hands-on experience, in a kitchen sized perfectly for them, while learning fun facts about the natural ingredients they’re using. The classes are structured in 4-week themed sessions, with a different recipe each week. And with a take home laminated recipe card from each class, kids can begin to build their own cookbooks! Specific classes include: Tots Can Cook In these classes, 2-3 year olds cook alongside a parent or caregiver, discovering that even they can have fun and be successful at cooking simple, yet exciting and healthy recipes. Kids Can Cook As children ages 4–6 and 7–10 begin to work more independently, these classes focus on encouraging their increasing potential inthe kitchen. Parents can drop off, but are always more than welcome tostay and watch. CLASS INFORMATION: Each class is 1 hr. Cost is $25 per class or $90 for a 4-week session.
Teen Cooking Classes Teaching young people how to cook healthy is a great way to keep them eating healthy as they become more independent. Our teen classes raise the bar on our kids’ curriculum, teaching more advanced skills that reflect teens’ growing conceptual and physical abilities. Classes are divided into age groups: 11-14 and 15-18. Specific courses include: Knife Skills Our knife skills class not only teaches young people how to handle a knife safely and confidently, it also gives them the chance to learn about and practice different cuts (chop, slice, dice, mince, julienne)and then to use the foods they’ve cut in recipes! (For safety reasons, this class is recommended prior to attending Teens Can Cook classes.) 1.5 hours / $30 Teens Can Cook Our teen cooking classes delve deeper into topics like food and kitchen safety,hands-on cooking skills, measurements and ingredients, and the importance of healthy eating to both body and mind. With a different laminated recipe card from each class, your teen can start building a repetoire that goes beyond ramen noodles and frozen pizza! 1.5 hours / $30
 Bring the whole family in for a hands-on cooking class. You will get to prepare, and eat, an entire meal together. In addition to full bellies, you may end up leaving with a new menu to add to your dinner rotation at home! 1.5 hours / $25 per family member and for ages two and up.
