FULL DAY FOODIE ADVENTURE CAMP
for ages 7-10 | Lakeview location
Join us for a fun, sophisticated mix of hands-on cooking and urban foodie adventure. Campers meet in our Lakeview location and then head out on a field trip for the first half of the day. We're in the kitchen for the second half of each day, chopping, grating, mixing and rolling our way to a multi-course meal. Kids end up with full bellies and broader palates, plus the skills, recipes and inspiration they need to recreate the dishes at home.
Weeks & Themes
JUN 11 - 15: Dive into Diners
This week is all about comfort foods - dishes that not only fill your belly but soothe your soul. Kids get to create homemade versions of classic favorites!
JUL 2 - 6: Doughs & Pastries
Pretzels, pizza and pie, oh my! Kids get to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty mixing, kneading, rolling and filling different doughs to make both sweet and savory treats.
JUL 9 - 13: My Kinda Town - Chicago!
Join us on a culinary journey around Chicago. We'll be cooking up dishes that originated here, and ones that were imported by our friends from around the world!
JUL 30 - AUG 3: Fabulous Fusions
Create fun, fabulous fusions and push culinary boundaries! This week is all about blending the best of different food cultures and cuisines to make something even better.
AUG 20 - 24: Farm to Fork
Be a locavore for a week! Eating local food is good for you, great for the earth, terrifically tasty, and this time of year, about as easy as summer apple pie.
AUG 27 - 31: Spice It Up
Unleash the power of nature's flavor creators! Learn how to use a variety of herbs and spices to add flavor and sophisticated flare to your dishes.

Payment is due in full upon registration and is nonrefundable. Schedule changes can only be made prior to May 1 (and subject to availability).

Field Trip Info
Field trips will include visits to Green City Market and the Edible Garden, work mornings in a community garden, tours of a grocery store/restaurant/bakery, and walkabouts in some of Chicago's many ethnic neighborhoods. We'll plan field trips to match the camp week's theme whenever possible, and strive to include at least one community service project each week. PLEASE NOTE that for field trips, we travel by foot or public transit (bus & el).
We will send an email around a few days before the start of each week of camp with the field trip schedule for the week.
