TEEN FOODIE ADVENTURE CAMP
for ages 11-14 | LAKEVIEW location
Join us for a fun, sophisticated mix of hands-on cooking and urban foodie adventure. Campers spend the first half of each day out on a foodie field trip. We're in the kitchen for the second half of each day, chopping, grating, mixing and rolling our way to a multi-course meal. NEW this year, the structure of our Teen Foodie Adventure Camp will include small group cooking stations for maximum skill-building and growing culinary independence.
We'll post CAMP MENUS by January 15, along with a tentative field trip schedule. Field trips will includes experiences like visits to Green City Market and the Edible Garden, work mornings in a community garden, tours of a grocery store/restaurant/bakery, and walkabouts in some of Chicago's many ethnic neighborhoods. We'll plan field trips to match the camp week's theme whenever possible, and strive to include at least one community service project each week. PLEASE NOTE that for field trips, we travel by foot or public transit (bus & el).
